In addition to selecting your language, you will now choose a chat community when joining the server. Initially, there will only be a German and an English chat community. Once you've selected a community, you can only communicate with players who belong to the same one.
For experienced players, we offer the option to enable secondary chat communities. This allows you to receive messages from other communities, but you can only send messages within your primary chat community.
To help you keep track of players in your chat community and see who you can communicate with, we’ve updated the tab list. Players in your current chat community will be displayed normally, while those in other communities will appear grayed out.
Even though these changes might seem a little complex at first, most adjustments happen automatically in the background. For regular players, very little will actually change: German-speaking players will hardly notice the difference, while non-German speakers will no longer receive messages they don’t understand.
The tab list serves as an indicator of which players you can chat with globally and whether there’s any activity in your chat community. It is now sorted accordingly to reflect your selected chat community.
In addition to the introduction of chat communities, there will still be various chat channels. We’ve also made improvements here, allowing you to manage and select your chat channels more easily through a new menu. Another new feature is that we can now freely configure and manage available channels for each server individually. So if you have ideas for additional channels on specific servers, feel free to let us know!
Note: The local chat is currently independent of your selected chat community. This means you can communicate locally with nearby players regardless of your chat community choice.
Alongside the many technical changes, this update also brings an exciting new feature! You can now express your emotions freely with emojis! To keep things balanced, this feature is currently reserved for premium players. Additionally, you can use a maximum of three emojis per message.
The current selection of emojis is still limited, but we can expand it at any time and we’d love to hear your suggestions! To use an emoji, simply type the corresponding keyword between colons. With the autocomplete feature, finding available emojis is easy - just type a colon, and you’ll see relevant suggestions.
