New Minecraft Party Update Rotation

New Minecraft Party Update Rotation

update
January 10, 2025
This update not only adds new maps and a new minigame but also introduces our new update approach, featuring regular rotations of available minigames, maps, and more in future Minecraft Party updates.

Rotating Content in Minecraft Party

We have been developing Minecraft Party for quite some time now, and the minigame has grown significantly since then. In total, it contains 30 minigames and hundreds of maps. As we already mentioned in our last Devblog, we are in the process of changing a few things on Cytooxien. We want to deliver content more regularly and expand our games in terms of quality and gameplay. This also affects Minecraft Party! Therefore we have decided to remove some minigames and maps from the public rotation.

So, you just removed content from Minecraft Party?

Not quite. Minecraft Party stands for variety and that  is of course still important to us!

However, the large scope of Minecraft Party results in the following problems:

  • New minigames and maps doesnt geht any attention
  • Minigames might be too similar to others
  • New players and casual players are overwhelmed

We want new Minecraft Party updates to really feel fresh and exciting. Although we will reduce the number of maps and minigames somewhat, we will regularly replace or adapt them with each update. So, if we remove a minigame or map from the rotation, it doesn't mean that it will disappear forever. They will return in a future rotation – either reworked and improved or as a variation. This way, we create space for us to be creative again, and you have a reason to play a few rounds again with every update! We will of course keep some popular minigames and maps permanently in the rotation. We will also make sure that you can permanently play all minigames, maps and all variations of the minigames in private rounds.

New minigame: Tumble Tactics

You can now play the new minigame, Tumble Tactics! The goal of the game is to get down as quickly as possible while suffering as little fall damage as you can. But watch out: if you fall too fast or too deep and die, you will start again from the top. The Feather Falling Platforms, which play a central role in the game, are particularly helpful.

The featherfall platforms are distributed at irregular intervals and can be activated to obtain the featherfall effect. This effect increases with each activated platform, making a strategic approach and the choice of an optimal route crucial. The question mark blocks are also important: if you land on one, you will receive a random effect. This effect can be positive, such as regeneration, or negative, such as levitation, which can affect your descent speed.

Spleef Variation

In this new Spleef variation, you swap your crossbows for snow shovels and exciting power-ups! As usual, your goal is to be the last player standing by destroying the ground beneath your opponents. However, the special attraction of this version lies in the multiple levels and the numerous new power-ups, which make the gameplay even more varied.

With the Wind Charge, you can change levels at lightning speed, while the newly introduced bomb can be thrown onto another level to destroy blocks there. But be careful: if the ground beneath the bomb is destroyed, it will fall back and could be dangerous to you!

You also have a special bow at your disposal with which you can shoot explosive TNT arrows. These are perfect for sending distant players into the abyss and tactically influencing the game.
