Minecraft Hardcore on Realms

Minecraft Hardcore on Realms

update
April 17, 2025
With the latest Realms update, templates have been completely overhauled. From now on, you can jump straight into curated game modes developed by us – starting with the brand-new Minecraft Hardcore template, where your survival skills will truly be put to the test!

A New Approach to Templates

Templates for Realms aren’t entirely new – but we’ve completely reimagined how they work. Previously, they were simply a quick way to set up a Realm with predefined plugins and permission settings. Those old templates have now been retired. Don’t worry: if you’ve already created a Realm using one of them, nothing will change for you.

We're taking things to the next level. From now on, our templates offer fully standalone gameplay experiences, developed and curated by us – perfect for playing with friends. These are complete game concepts that, due to their length and player count, aren’t ideal for quick public minigame sessions. Each template offers a variety of customization options and delivers a polished experience in classic Cytooxien quality.

To kick off this new generation of templates, we’re launching with the “Hardcore” template (more on that below).

If the concept proves popular, you can look forward to even more exciting experiences in the future, including Minecraft Manhunt and Minecraft Bingo.

Minecraft Hardcore Template

Our new Hardcore template lets you and your friends dive into a shared Minecraft Hardcore experience. Unlike the standard Hardcore mode, our version includes unique features and customizable settings. By default, it introduces a shared health and hunger bar – meaning whatever happens to one player affects the entire team. Every lost heart and every bit of hunger impacts everyone. It turns every run into a team challenge where collaboration decides whether you win or lose.

Each new run begins in a freshly generated world, ensuring no two games are the same. The session starts once all players step through the portal in the waiting lobby. Before the adventure begins, you can tweak various settings to adjust the difficulty to your liking – making it as chill or intense as you want.
